What is a Local Resilience Forum?

Local resilience forums (LRFs) are multi-agency partnerships with representatives from local public services, including the emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, the Environment Agency and others.

LRFs plan and prepare for localised incidents and catastrophic emergencies. They identify potential risks and produce emergency plans to prevent or mitigate the impact of any incident on their local communities.

LRFs are made up of Category 1 Responders, which are the first on the scene of an emergency. They are supported by Category 2 responders, such as the Highways Agency and public utility companies which have a duty to co-operate and share information with Category 1 organisations.

Why is it the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Resilience Forum?

LRFs cover police areas across England and Wales.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Resilience Forum covers the geographical area served by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

What does the CPLRF do?

To ensure Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is as prepared as it can be for emergency situations, the CPLRF identifies the risks that have the highest likelihood and potential to cause widescale disruption.

It produces emergency plans on how its partners will respond to these incidents if they were to occur.

These plans are regularly reviewed and tested through desktop and live exercises.
